The historic Fishbowl at EMU is open again to the public. The old cafeteria is gone and the remodeled space, including Stabucks, is complete. The remaining vendors—Chipotle, Joe’s Burgers, Subway and Panda Express—will open later this fall.

 Two Ducks Win National Honors for Service

Morgan Plew and Marc Caputo are stellar examples of student leaders making real change for their communities and our campus – and have received national recognition for their efforts.

A project of the Division of Student Life and the Athletic Department called “Duck Crossing” was an experiment designed to bridge perceived divides between students and student-athletes at the university. The project went so well, participants are hoping to replicate it every year.

The project continues to move forward in June with new finished space in the renovation turned over, areas within the existing building turned into construction space, and the new wing making steady progress towards building enclosure completion. As evidenced by the large hydraulic scaffolding equipment on site, masonry has begun on the north elevation of the North Wing and will work steadily from west to east. The installation of sheathing and waterproofing continues to be installed clockwise around the building.

When Peter Hollens graduated from the UO back in 2006, he could have never imagined that he’d be on the Commencement stage— especially as the graduation speaker!

UO selects new president—Michael H. Schill to be 18th university president

We have a new head Duck on campus! Michael Schill has been selected as the 18th president of the University of Oregon. President Schill comes to Eugene from his position as dean of the law school at the University of Chicago. He will officially assume the UO presidency on July 1, 2015.
