Here’s a bit more about the book in case you haven’t read it:

In Boys in the Boat, Daniel James Brown tells the story of the University of Washington’s 1936 eight-oar crew and their quest for an Olympic gold medal. The sons of loggers, shipyard workers, and farmers, the boys defeated elite rivals first from eastern and British universities and finally the German crew rowing for Adolf Hitler in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. The team transformed the sport and grabbed the attention of millions of Americans. Fascinating nuggets of the history of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest from the depression through World War II are woven throughout the narrative.
