7 Ways to Duck the Rain

1. Rain Jacket:

It’s best to have a least one rain jacket at your disposal so you can make it to class on those rainy days in a semi-dry fashion. Rain jackets can be found in any clothing store because let’s face it, it’s Eugene—and it  rains a lot here.

2. Umbrella:

Although this item is frowned upon by some Oregonians, it can be a classy and dry way to get to class. Just don’t hit anyone in the head.

3. Boots:

There is nothing worse than sitting in class with soggy feet, okay there is but no one likes soggie shoes. On the days where it’s more like “wading” to class, a pair of boots is priceless.

4. Rain/Snow Pants:

Everyone thinks about the jacket and the boots, but what about your pants. You need to keep those calves dry too, so investing in some water proof pants should be a consideration.

5. Waterproof Backpack:

It’s pouring, but you’ve got your rain jacket and boots and you’re making your way to class. Upon arrival, you find that all your homework and books are soaked and completely ruined. Don’t make this mistake. Make sure you have a waterproof backpack or something inside of it to keep your stuff dry.

6. Trash Bag:

For those days when you didn’t bring rain gear, a trash bag can be a great go-to survival item. The most successful application involves a clean trash bag (that's important) with holes cut into it for arms and head. Also please recycle.

7. No Rain Gear:

It never rains at Autzen Stadium. So who needs rain gear anyways?

Stay dry out there!
