Weaving New Beginnings—October 16, 2014

On October 16 from 5:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. in the EMU Ballroom, you’re invited to attend Weaving New Beginnings, an annual dinner providing students, faculty, staff, and community members of color and their allies an opportunity to meet, mingle, and celebrate the new school year.

It began twenty years ago–a group of students, faculty and staff of color were looking for a way to connect across campus. It was designed as a way to start the academic year by coming together, finding solidarity, finding community–a way to weave together with all the new beginnings.

Held the third Thursday in October every year, Weaving New Beginnings is a celebration of the diversity of our campus and an opportunity for individuals to connect, to find new friends and greet long-time colleagues.

Every year is a little bit different, but Weaving New Beginnings always has fabulous food, great entertainment, and a few words from University leadership. The event is free and family friendly.
