7 Study Spots

I’ve got a paper. And three exams. And a presentation. (What’s Prezi, how do I use it, and why do my professors love it so much?!)

With the stress of midterm on the horizon, it’s time to start strategizing about your study spots. But don’t worry: all hope is not lost. Here’s a list of the best study spots, on campus and off.

1) The cafe next to the AAA library in Lawrence

I mean, it’s in the architecture building, of course it’s beautiful! With an open floor plan, wide tables, and natural lighting, this spot will have you feeling inspired and productive in no time.

2) Townshend’s Tea House

Kombucha on tap, bubble tea to your heart’s content, and an almost overwhelmingly extensive list of hot teas—what more could you want? Take a bike ride down Willamette to this cozy little teahouse with a quirky, eclectic feel. It’s worth the crowds on the weekends. Trust me.

3) Tailored

Down by 5th street market, Tailored is a hidden gem. This little spot features amazing coffee and great music for alternative-lovers. The bright, open space is inviting and the Wi-Fi is on point. And whoa—all their snacks are toast-based. That’s right. Like. Different things on toast. Weird, but amazing. Pro tip: try their chai.

4) First floor HEDCO

This study spot in the education building is rarely populated. Huge windows provide sunshine and happiness, and right around the corner from the cafe you’ll find big, cushy booths. On sunny days, check out the courtyard right outside!

5) Vero

A Eugene classic. Only a few blocks from campus, this old Victorian-style house turned coffee shop is a great place to churn out a paper. On warm days, the outdoor seats are ideal. The drinks are excellent. They’ve also got a sweet upstairs room that you can rent for cheap—make it a study party a reserve it with friends!

6) Lillis terrace

Way up the spiral stairs, there’s a terrace that overlooks Mackenzie and Deady halls. You won’t find any tables up here, but it sure is beautiful on a sunny day, and it’s perfect for plowing through some readings.

7) Wandering Goat

Wanna get weird? Head down to the Whiteaker neighborhood and check out this little coffee shop nestled up against the train tracks. It’s a totally different feel from your average coffee place—metal/hardcore music and black decor make The Wandering Goat a pretty cool change of pace. Not to mention their coffee is out of this world and they’re fully stocked on vegan baked goods. (Seriously, best muffin you’ll ever have.)
