EConnection
The Parent & Family eConnection, provided directly to UO Parents Association (UOPA) members, is a great resource for you to receive current UO information via e-mail. By joining the UO Parents Association and providing your e-mail address, you will receive the Connections e-newsletter, event information, and new items relevant to the families of University of Oregon students directly to your e-mail address each month. There are also other benefits to joining the Parents Association. Parents who do not choose to join the association will be able to access the newsletter information from the website after it is posted.

If the new abbreviations and references your students make have you confused, hopefully this list will help clarify so you will both be on the same page. You can also refer to our Duck Guide to answer questions.

  • Campus Services & Locations
    • ASUO-----------------Associated Students of the University of Oregon. This is our student government organization.
    • Autzen-----------------the campus football stadium
    • CD--------------------Complex Director, a full-time professional staff member who lives on campus and supervises a staff of Resident Assistants.

    • Pit Crew--------------student organization that organizes the cheering section at athletic events
    • PLC (Prince Lucien Cambell Hall)-------------a large building that holds numerous classrooms, and faculty offices
    • RA---------------------Resident Assistant, and undergraduate student who is trained and oversees a portion of the on-campus residence halls.
    • REC Center--------------------the state-of-the art fitness facility available to students for free with their student ID card.
