Below is information to help you prepare for your visit to the University of Oregon as we celebrate Spring Commencement and Summer Commencement.

  • Arrangements:

    Tickets are not needed for the spring or summer main ceremony. For the main ceremony in the spring, all seating is a first come, first served basis. McArthur Court will open at 11:30am.

    Travel Information

    Mac Court entry and seating: Diagram of Mac Court indicates where to enter and exit the court in the spring. At the end of the main cermony, after the graduates have exited Mac Court, you may meet them across the street on the EMU lawn. Another ceremony will be starting in Mac Court right after the main ceremony ends.

    Dates, locations, and times of departmental/college ceremonies (spring)

    Wheelchair seating is available on the east side of McArthur Court and accessed through Door 5 on University Street. Optimal seating for guests using sign language interpretation is located on the west side of the platform. For views of seating in Mac Court, please see diagram. If accommodations are needed for a department ceremony, please contact the appropriate department. For summer, the ceremony at the Memorial Quad will have sign language interpretation and seating at the front near the stage.

    Flowers will be sold throughout the campus area for the spring ceremonies.

     

  • Directions to the University:
    Driving directions to the campus

    Driving directions from the south:
    From I-5 south, take the Beltline Hwy West exit (Exit 195B). Merge onto Beltline Hwy. Take the first exit (Coburg Road). Turn left onto Coburg Road. Keep on the left lane of Coburg Road. Coburg Road will end at the Ferry Street Bridge. Proceed in the left lane over the Ferry Street Bridge, exiting onto Broadway, which becomes Franklin Boulevard. Follow Franklin Boulevard to Agate Street.

    From I-5 south, take the Glenwood exit (Exit 191). At the next two stop signs, turn right at each stop sign. At the next traffic light intersection, turn left. Keep on the left lane and go over the bridge. Stay on the left as the road becomes Franklin Blvd. Go past two traffic lights. At the third light, turn left onto Agate Street (Agate Street is unmarked from this direction, but has a sign for Riverfront Drive which goes to the right).

  • Campus Parking:
    • Parking on campus during spring commencement is tight. There are parking lots available as well as parking meters on the edges of campus. These meters are hooded for the spring ceremonies with green and yellow bags and offer free parking for the day of graduation.
    • On spring commencement day, four information booths across campus will be staffed for your convenience.
    • There will be campus maps available at the information desk on the main entrance of Oregon Hall until 5:00 pm on Friday. On Saturday, please ask for maps at the Erb Memorial Union scheduling and information desk, east concourse, or at an information booth.

Note: Because of the Olympic Trials, lodging is going to be very tight in Eugene. You may check in Cottage Grove and Springfield for lodging as well.
