Honors and Awards
How to Apply
If you receive a letter via e-mail indicating someone nominated you for an award, you will be instructed to fill out an application. Fill out the online form as completely as possible and finalize it. The information on the application form is what the committee is looking for in selecting award recipients. Supplemental materials (except for those requested online) will not be accepted. It is also critical that you provide the dates or duration of activities so that the selection committees can evaluate the extent of your involvement. If you were not nominated, you are still able to apply online. Just send an e-mail to the Office of Student Life and ask to be added as a nominee - stl@uoregon.edu.
Selection Process
Recipients are selected by diverse communities of faculty, staff, and students whose membership represents: Housing, Athletics, Multicultural Academic Support, International Programs, Greek Life, Student Life, Erb Memorial Union, ASUO, and various academic departments. Campus involvement in a variety of contexts and academic achievements are considered heavily in the selection of the individual awards.
Timeline
Once the deadline for applications passes, the committees will meet and review all applications for the freshmen, sophomore, junior women, junior men, and senior awards. You will receive notification within a few weeks whether or not you have received an award. We do not inform you of the specific award you have received, but we do inform your parents/family you listed on your online application form of which award you will be receiving. The University Awards Ceremonies will be held on May 16, 2009 to honor the award recipients. No tickets are required, but in order to get a head count, please RSVP to the Office of Student Life at (541) 346-3216 or stl@uoregon.edu.
Online Application Form
You can only fill this out if you were nominated and have received an email indicating you have been nominated. Again, if you would like to self-nominate, please e-mail us at stl@uoregon.edu.
