Spring Commencement Information
Spring 2010 Graduation ceremonies will take place on Monday, June 14, 2010. (updated 9/1/09)
The 2010 Commencement will be the inaugural event at setting a new tradition at the University of Oregon. For the past year a committee has been planning a renovation of the commencement exercises to make them more celebratory for our students, their families and the community.
The main commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, where all students and families will be encouraged to attend as the beginning of a day-long celebration throughout campus. Following the main ceremony, the schools, colleges and department exercises will take place in the early and late afternoon. Starting what is hoped to be one of many new traditions, graduates, families, current students, faculty, members of the Eugene-Springfield community, and others will be invited to participate in other activities planned on campus. The details are still in process but the hope is to have museums, laboratories, departments and other areas of campus open for visitors to explore where the graduates have grown and transformed their lives on the road to graduation day.
A final schedule of events will be posted very soon. Please check back in November for a timeline of events.
